PRAYER PARTNER APPLICATION - Job Description and Confidentiality Agreement

Being a prayer partner is a joy and a privilege! It carries a great responsibility while maintaining confidentiality. Our Prayer Team members typically serve a short period of time where we may be limited in time but big on hope, connection, and faith in the future. God is never limited by our time. Expect a Miracle!

PURPOSE

We desire to provide our guests and church an opportunity to receive prayer, personal interaction, and a time to connect with God, as part of each Sunday Service.

We want to create a church culture where "prayer is normal" and praying for each other is expected, and it is available to everyone. We want to be known as a praying church!

REQUIREMENTS

- Have a heart to see God transform people's lives.
- Member of Grace Community Church. Must be known and actively involved in a group or ministry and shows spiritual maturity.
- Attend periodic Prayer Partner training sessions.
- Complete Prayer Partner Volunteer/Confidentiality Agreement.
- Wear a Prayer Partner badge when praying with others - It increases the comfort level for guests by identifying Prayer Partners.
- Commit to actively seeking God during the week in personal prayer times, not only on Sunday.

TIME COMMITMENT

- All Prayer Partners are asked to participate in the Team Huddle 30 minutes prior to the service they are serving at for a time of prayer to prepare their hearts/minds to pray for others.
- Prayer during service usually takes place at the end of the service and lasts approximately 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare your heart and mind before you serve by taking some personal time to pray during the week and prior to arriving for Team Huddle.
- Complete a Prayer Partner Card for each person you prayed for by 6pm on the Sunday you serve.

OVERALL COMMITMENT

-After initial training or shadowing, and meeting and completing all Prayer Partner criteria, we ask that you make a one year commitment as a Prayer Partner.
- As a Prayer Partner you can choose to serve every week, once a month, etc. depending on your schedule.
- You can submit blackout dates in Planning Center when you are unavailable to serve.

OUR GOALS

- To facilitate a personal connection between the person asking for prayer and God.
- That the person understands that God is with them and they are not alone in their struggle, confusion or hopes and God is reliable through their circumstances.
- That the person feels we have "listened" and "heard" their request - It is always about the person, not us.
- To show respect for the person and where they are at the moment - physically, spiritually and emotionally.
- All prayer is done out of love and never to exploit the person or God. We always consider it a privilege that God has granted us to care for another person in that moment and to participate with Him in what He wants to do in their life.
- When it comes to defining an "answered prayer" we do not measure success based on His outcomes, His timing, or our limited understanding.
-Come with high expectations that God not only can, but that he does perform miracles - We have seen:
-- Circumstances changed
-- Worries leave
-- Emotions healed
-- Diseases removed
-- Physical healings

WHO CAN BE A PRAYER PARTNER?

- Grace Community Church Members meeting and completing Prayer Partner criteria can become a Prayer Partner (This criteria, accountability and commitment is necessary due to the level of accountability, commitment, trust and confidentiality we have with guests).

GCC PRAYER PARTNER VOLUNTEER / CONFIDENTIALITY AGREEMENT

As a Grace Community Church Prayer Partner Volunteer, I agree to the following:

I understand that I must be a member of Grace Community Church in order to become a Prayer Partner. *

I agree to fill out the membership application if I am currently not a member.

I acknowledge that my role as a volunteer is vital and I take it seriously. I realize that being a Prayer Partner makes me a role model and I will conduct myself in a manner that is above reproach in person and online. *

I will maintain a cheerful disposition, work in the spirit of faith, and not give place for negative attitudes. I will maintain a positive attitude towards my leaders and fellow volunteers (even if they require more grace). *

If I have a concern, I will go to my leader and address my concerns and ask for help. I will refrain from participating in gossip, murmuring and complaining. *

I will intentionally make Grace Community Church a friendly place. As a volunteer, it is my responsibility to make everyone (children, adults, visitors, volunteers and leaders) feel honored and welcome. *

I commit to keeping all prayer requests strictly confidential and will not discuss these requests with others, outside of my team leaders or those I am to report critical items to *

I will show respect for each person I am praying for and where they are at the moment physically, spiritually and emotionally. *

I will not measure the success of prayers based on God's outcomes, His timing, or my limited understanding. I will maintain a high expectation that God's will is released when we pray, that God works through His people, and that God does perform miracles. *

I will share praise reports with Prayer Partner Team leaders to help encourage the Prayer Partners, staff and church. *

I will pray regularly for Grace Community Church, Pastors, Elders, Leadership and Staff. *

I will promptly accept/decline scheduling requests and will block out planned absence days at least 14 days in advance. *

I will keep my commitment to serve and will not chronically be absent, tardy or unprepared to serve when scheduled. *

I will make attending team huddles and Prayer Partner training opportunities a priority. *

I will attend Grace Community Church on a regular basis and contribute to the ministry through giving, service and inviting others. *

I am committed to the vision, core values and furthering the mission of Grace Community Church. *
